Sacha Baron Cohen's Grimsby will open in 2015

Sacha Baron Cohen's forthcoming comedy, Grimsby, has received an official release date, with the film set to open in the US on 31 July 2015.

Deadline reports that the Louis Leterrier-directed film has also got a new distributor, with Sony set to release the picture in place of Paramount.

Grimsby will follow a British black-ops agent, who is forced to go on the run with his estranged brother, a beer-swilling football hooligan. Naturally, Cohen will be playing both parts…

Cohen co-wrote the script with his Borat partner Peter Baynham, with further contributions coming from Philomena's Phil Johnston. Production is slated to begin on the project this summer, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Cohen has renewed his first-look deal with Paramount for the next three years, with the star saying, "any studio that puts out a movie where Leonardo DiCaprio snorts cocaine from a hooker’s anus is a place I’m happy to call home."
